The Donopoulos International Fine Arts gallery opened its doors to the public on December 8th 2007 with the exhibition Pablo Picasso: Engravings, thus presenting for the first time in Thessaloniki works by the great Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.
Since the success of such an initiative the DIFA gallery hosts periodical exhibitions where the viewer is invited to enjoy works and objects of art by contemporary and modern artists of global standing.
By creating international co-operations as with the gallery ConzenBeck & Eggeling in Düsseldorf we have managed to exclusively obtain works by famous artists with international reputation such as Pablo Picasso, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Manolo Valdés, Stephen Conroy, Vangelis Pliarides and others.
Through a program which intends to suggest contemporary works whose aesthetics, form and context can support an international environment, the gallery seeks to present the work of new and established artists from Greece and abroad.
The DIFA gallery space is accommodated at the cultural compound of ‘Mylos’, And. Georgiou 56, in fully refurbished rooms. The responsibility for the architectural design of the gallery space has artist Apostolos Palavrakis. |
